Tutor: Benjamin Scott
Location: Uppingham School
Over five days we shall look at some of the essential elements of creative writing such as plot structure, character and dialogue. We explore where ideas come from and how to transform these ideas into finished pieces of writing. There will be plenty of exercises to get you writing, as well as time to get feedback on your work.
Whether you have a novel inside you, or you just fancy putting pen to paper, this course will give you the perfect opportunity to develop your skills and share your work as well as have fun with like-minded writers.
Benjamin Scott has taught creative writing for a range of schools and organisations, including the Oxford University Continuing Education Department and Swanwick, the Writers’ Summer School, as well as mentoring writers through his critiquing and editorial service. He really enjoys inspiring and encouraging young writers to explore and develop their passion for writing and storytelling. Benjamin is the ghost-author of eight books (including five books in the Star Fighters series by Max Chase) and his debut Young Adult novel is currently on submission with his literary agent.
