What is Brilliant Broadcasting?
Brilliant Broadcasting offers students unique training opportunities in broadcast technologies. Students will learn all about radio craft, whether as on-air talent, behind the scenes producers or technical engineers.
Students will work in radio production teams using cutting-edge industry hardware and software to produce and broadcast a high quality radio show, which will include commercial radio style DJing, interviews, news and current affairs. They will have the opportunity to develop skills as radio journalists or to try their hand at script-writing or composing music for the show. Students will also have the opportunity to film and edit video footage recorded throughout the week. The edited video will be combined with the final 'live' radio broadcast to be presented at the end of the week to an audience of family and friends.
Sessions throughout the week will include:
- On-air talent
- Behind the scenes production
- Technical engineering
- Radio journalism
- Composing radio jingles
It is a busy and full-on week, so we also include a varied programme of leisure activities such as swimming or other sports, a night out bowling, and film evenings etc.
