Can you send me a brochure?

How do I make a booking?
You can make your booking through this website or by calling 01572 820800.

Do I need to pay in full for the course when making my booking?
Full payment is required at the time of booking for all courses unless indicated otherwise. Places on a select number of courses can be secured by payment of a deposit of £150, with the balance payable by 15th June. You will be emailed with a reminder to pay when the final balance is due.

Do you offer any discounts?
An early booking discount of 10% will apply to bookings for select children's courses made before 31st January 2018 for Easter and 31st March 2018 for summer, provided FULL payment is received at the time of booking.

How can I pay?
Payment can be made by cheque, credit card or by direct bank transfer. Please contact Uppingham Summer School for details if you wish to pay by bank transfer.

What should I do if I want to pay by cheque?
Please download and print out our booking form and parental consent form, then send both of these back to us along with your cheque. Cheques should be made payable to 'Uppingham School’. Please send your cheque to Uppingham Summer School, Balmaghie, 25 High Street West, Uppingham, Rutland, LE15 9QB.

Do you accept bookings for international children and those from overseas?
We do, although we are not a Language School as such. We welcome children of all nationalities, but we do not offer English lessons as part of the curriculum, and our courses assume a good level of spoken and written English by all participants. Unfortunately we are not able to offer collection and transport from airports either.

Do you take childcare vouchers?
Unfortunately we do not accept childcare vouchers. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

What happens next?
As soon as your payment has been cleared we will send you an acknowledgement of your booking. General course notes can be found on the relevant course pages. A final information pack for Children's residential courses will be sent to you shortly before the course date - this will contain details of where your child will be accommodated, and where you should go on arrival.

What if I need to cancel my booking?
Please notify us in writing (by letter or email). Our policy on refunds is:

  • Cancellation more than 90 days from course start - full refund
  • Cancellation less than 90 but more than 30 days from course start - an administration charge of £150 will be levied
  • Cancellation 30 days or less from course start - full sum due.

Do you provide accommodation?
Our children's courses during the summer have a residential option.  We are also able to offer accommodation for our adult orchestra courses in the summer. At other times, details of local B&B's and hotels can be found here.

How do I get more information about a course?
Please give us a call on 01572 820800, and we would be happy to answer any queries, or if you need more specialised information it will often be possible to put you in touch with the course tutor.

Do you run any courses during October half term?
We normally have Autumn Hockey running during this half term holiday.

How can I submit feedback?
We welcome your feedback which can be given by email.

What should I do if I have a concern or would like to make a complaint?

Where any student or parent/guardian has any concern or complaint about any course or any aspect of the course, he/she should address the matter immediately in writing to the Uppingham School Enterprise Manager at ku/oc/mahgnippu//loohcsremmus. Our aim is to ensure courses fulfil expectations as far as possible, and we would always wish to rectify any issues raised. We regret we are unable to offer any recompense for complaints not brought to the attention of the Enterprise Manager at the time.

If you are not satisfied with the response you receive from the Enterprise Manager, you may also contact the Bursar at Uppingham School. If you are still not satisfied with the response, you may wish to submit an electronic complaint via the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform and this will be dealt with by an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider.
